In order to stay clean I need to start caring, change my decision making, and stop being selfish. Being that way was causing me to be lazy and arrogant. I need to change these things because it will never get me anywhere in life. Those behaviors led me to smoking, fighting, cheating, cutting school, and getting locked up. Then it finally led me to The Bridge which is a rehab.

My negative behaviors were trying to fit in. From hanging out with my brother, I saw him getting fast money and having fun, and I wanted that. I decided to start using drugs too. I didn’t realize how much it would affect my family and my community.

What I Gained at The Bridge

At The Bridge, I gained a lot out of the program that made me a better person than I was before. Before I came to The Bridge, I was crying out for help, but my family thought I was crying wolf, and felt that I was blowing things out of proportion. I knew that if I could just get one chance to get myself together, and get my priorities straight, I would be successful.

My Stay at The Bridge

I first arrived at The Bridge at the beginning of June. When I first came in, I had a negative attitude towards treatment. I didn’t care about myself or the opportunities I had to turn myself around. All I wanted to do was run away from my problems. I would manipulate and lie to get the things I wanted in life. People took me for this junky, burnout kid who was going nowhere in life.
